Antworten an die Zukunft: Bevölkerungsentwicklung

Series: Die Welt im Wandel
Poster - Die Welt im Wandel - Anworten an die Zukunft - small.jpeg

The United Nations expect the world population to grow up to 9.8 billion people in the year 2050 – two billion more than today. In Africa alone, the population will expectedly double, from around 1.3 billion people to 2.5 billion with 40% of the population being under 18 years of age.

At the same time, the need for nutrition, water, natural resources, environmental benefits as well as infrastructure grow in the same pace. This growth and expansion create opportunities as well as risks for example for further development of health care, education, and economy in affected countries and societies. What kind of approaches should stakeholders in international cooperation, research, and civil society choose and develop? And how could these affect the development of a sustainable demographic development?
