Opening of the lecture series 'The United Nations at 70: Fit for "The Future We Want"?' on 16 April 2015 with Dr. Imme Scholz, Dr. Maria Hohn-Berghorn and Silke Weinlich.

On April 16th, our new lecture series 'The United Nations at 70: Fit for "The Future We Want"?' has been opened. Over 80 guest came to the Bonner Universitätsforum to listen to Silke Weinlich's talk about UN-Reforms. Before Silke Weinlich's presentation, Dr. Maria Hohn-Berghorn (City of Bonn) and Dr. Imme Scholz (DIE) gave two welcome notes to introduce the series and appreciate the new co-operation. Dr. Maria Hohn-Berghorn highlighted the importance of such an event series at the UN City of Bonn, especially in the year 2015. Dr. Imme Scholz outlined the concept and the different perspectives and issues the series seeks to cover.

Silke Weinlich delivered an interesting presentation followed by a critical discussion with the audience. She not only decscribed what it means to think of reforms for such a complex system like the UN, but also the main needs, goals ands obstacles the UN has to face today.
