Start of the Lecture Series ›Sociology of political systems‹

Sociology of political systems

›Perspektiven der Moderne‹ is the central scientific lecture series at the Forum Internationale Wissenschaft. It is based on the research focus of the FIW and organized by turns by the departments since 2013. This winter semester 2018/19, the lecture series is being organized by the Department for Comparative Research on Democracies and presents the topic ›Sociology of political systems‹. The first lecture will be held on October 24 by Nicolas Hayoz, University of Freiburg.

Three of the lectures will be held in English: On December 19, Lawrence E. Rose (University of Olso) is going to talk about the organisation of sub-level government in Scandinavia. Laura van Waas (Tillburg University) will present an exploration of (non)citizenship on January 16. On February 13, Laura Morales (Sciences Po, Paris) will complete the lecture series presenting a talk on political responsiveness in democratic regimes.

As always, the events will take place on Wednesdays, 6 p.m., in room 0.109 in the Bonner Universitätsforum, Heussallee 18-24. After the lectures, we invite you to an apéro.
