Director of the FIW elected as member of the Academy of Sciences Leopoldina

In a letter by Prof. Dr. Jörg Hacker, president of the Leopoldina, Prof. Dr. Rudolf Stichweh was informed he had been chosen as member of the Academy of Science.

The Leopoldina was founded in 1652 and is therefore one of the oldest science academies in the world. In 2008, it became the German National Academy of Sciences. Prof. Hacker wrote in his letter of appointment: "In your election, you may see a particular acknowledgement of your scientific achievements and your personality, and we would like to congratulate you warmly on your election."

 

Prof. Stichweh accepted the election and will actively engage in the academy's section of cultural sciences.
