The lecture series, which is organized in partnership with One Resilient Earth, explores processes of socio-ecological transformation in the context of the large-scale ecological disruptions of the Anthropocene, such as climate change, freshwater scarcity, and the massive loss of biodiversity. Does the perspective of a possible ecological self-destruction lead modern society to overcome some of its foundational premisses and structures? What kind of alternative worldviews, institutions and practices might emerge in response to the ecological challenges of our time?

Researchers from various disciplines and countries will address these questions with a focus on politics, science and religion. Selected artworks will complement the scientific presentations and enrich our way of engaging with the topics of the lectures.

The lecture series will take place in English on Zoom. Information, the program and the possibility to register online are available here.
